PROCESS-BASED REWARDS (From Photogram Demos to Discounts on Private Instruction)

• $75 REWARD: Free 1-hour Photogram Demo & Q & A (online)

Those who contribute at this level will have the option to watch me give a few photogram demos via Zoom, as well as ask questions or pick my brain about other diy darkroom processes,  that they might be interested in exploring or learning more about. 

• $150 REWARD: Free Intro session for Prospective Zoom Students 

I am offering free 2 hour intro sessions to those who contribute at this reward level, who may be interested in private and/or semi-private printing instruction.This reward is specificially for Zoom students, since I can't offer quite as big of discounts when I need to pay by the hour to use a public darkroom, in New York. 

[DIY darkroom processes translate the best remotely and there are options for both film and cameraless processes, as well as other topics, such as Art as Therapy, Photographing Your Dreams, Images & Words, and more]. 

Ages 13 & Up (Teens will need a parent or guardian's permission in writing to take the class

 I am happy to work with students of all ages - including your teens, but please keep in mind that some of the public darkrooms may have age restrictions, so the youth option is primarily for Zoom students. (Please note that there will be a small lab fee for in-person students, as most of the public facilites have hourly rates).  

• $250 REWARD: Free Intro session for Prospective In-person Students - Open to Both Traditional & Experimental Photographers 

This reward was initially designed for those who would like to explore in-person instruction, at a public darkroom location in New York, BEFORE signing up for a proper course of instruction; However, I am also willing to potentially come to you if you live locally and are willing to set up a makeshift darkroom in your home (which I'll help you work out how to do inexpensively).

• $500-$800 Rewards: 4-6 Weeks of Discounted Instruction - Which includes TWO Extra 2 Hour Sessions

This reward is a great way to save quite a bit on one-on-one instruction.

Most of my classes and topics of private/online instruction are best learned over a longer period of time, which is why I usually recommend that those who really wish to dive into a new process take the time to learn it. That said, a lot of my students simply don't have the budget for more than 6 weekly sessions, and that's basically the starting point of when many participants start to get past the learning curves and begin to discover the magic of the process(es), which is why this reward discount and bonus is so great.

Prospective students who contribute at this level will get discounted rates on 4-6 weeks of weekly instruction AND to keep on thanking you for your generous contribution, I'll throw in two more free sessions when those end, so we can keep working together. [Please note that there will be a small lab fee for in-person instruction that is done outside of my home darkroom].

Topics of instruction are quite varied for in-person instruction; DIY darkroom processes (or perhaps lumens/sun prints that don't need darkroom chemistry) translate the best remotely and there are alternative process/experimental photographic options for film enthusiasts AND for those who wish to get a bit more experimental without cameras.

I'm happy to design your instruction around what you wish to learn and am now offering variations of select topics of instruction, such as art as therapy, images and words, and the emotive print - to both photographers/photo enthusiasts AND to those who work in other 2-dimensional mediums, OR with poetry/the written word).

• NEW: Special REWARDS for In-Person - On the Road - DIY Darkroom Students, in the Western United States ($250-675)

 Since it's easy for you to set up DIY Darkrooms at home (with my remote guidance) - and I do need to work (or at least bring in a lot of extra income via the rewards) while I travel to make the work for EQUIVALENCE , I've decided to create a reward for in-person private students and/or small groups who live in the western United States and are interested in 1-3 days of instruction while I am in town.

This reward applies to those who are based in the following states and would like me to try to work in a stop in your neighborhood:

CALIFORNIA - north, central, south, (and all the way down to San Diego)

NEW MEXICO - Santa Fe and therabouts (don't know the area well enough to advise on other locations yet)

COLORADO - Denver, Fort Collins, possibly as far south as Durango, but that might be a tad ambitous without additonal funding

OREGON - will have to get back to you on locations - definitely lots of coastal beach spots, hopefully Portland, and maybe further out.

TBD - Arizona, Washington State

  • 3-DAY Rewards include a free 5x7 photogram that I will bring to you as a thank you for supporting the making of EQUIVALENCE 

 Semi-Private Groups (2-5 people, if you have the space for them or access to a facility we can use), I'm happy to work out a bigger discount than I can afford to give to private students.
